John Jesse sleeps in a jungle, a mural of pale palms and ferns on deep rust with a ceiling of twilight blue painted by his sister Joanna Campion in John Oliver paints. John Jesse is the Art Nouveaux, Art Deco expert, his shop at 164 Kensington Church Street. The mural is strong on atmosphere in daylight or electric light. Pamela Harlech has a fabulous bedcover, a country house cover in her favourite blue and yellow appliqued by Lilian Delevoryas with Lord and Lady Harlech as medieval figures in a landscape.
