Calm Hands 1963

Calm hands – lit with silvery coolness
The new light-up is an extraordinary kind of jewelling; the first rings we’ve seen in we can’t remember when in which silver seems a great new fashion ore. Here, a weight of silver set with smoky topaz. Our favourite, the wide, rectangular ring grooved at the back like a Chinese pacifier. All by Torun Bulow Hube to order through Georg Jensen; $450 plus tax, each. The fetching black dress of moiréd antelope, cut to keep its wide neckline wide, its long body line long. By Trigère for Ben Kahn.

Photograph by Ken Haak from Vogue, September 15, 1963.
